How to set up WaveList for your gigs
Good news — you don't need any Spotify developer credentials. Just connect your Spotify account and you're ready to play.
Create your DJ account
Sign up with your email. This account holds your events, requests and Spotify connection.
Sign up / Sign inConnect your Spotify account
From your dashboard, click 'Connect Spotify'. You'll be redirected to Spotify to authorize WaveList. We use OAuth — your password is never shared. WaveList only gets permission to create and add to playlists in your account.
Create an event
Give it a name, venue and end time. WaveList automatically creates a Spotify playlist named after your event in your library.
Share the QR code
Display the event QR code at your booth. Guests scan it, search Spotify or YouTube, and add tracks — no app, no login required. Tracks sync straight into your Spotify playlist.
Important: Spotify's 25-user limit
WaveList is currently in Spotify's Development Mode, which means only DJs whose Spotify email has been pre-approved can connect. This is a Spotify restriction, not ours.
If you're a new DJ wanting to use WaveList: send the email address linked to your Spotify account to the WaveList admin and you'll be added within 24 hours. After that, the "Connect Spotify" button will work for you.
We're applying for Spotify's Extended Quota Mode so this step disappears for everyone.
